Sep 08, 2016

From Monday 29 August 2016, The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital’s (the Eye and Ear) outpatient clinics and day surgery will be provided at a new site, Eye and Ear on the Park. This site will be located on St Andrews Place in East Melbourne – or as you may know it, the old Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre site.

The Eye and Ear on the Park site will be the location for our outpatient clinic and day surgery services, and the main site is where our Emergency Department and inpatient ward are located and where surgery requiring an overnight stay will be performed.

It is important to note that only outpatient clinics and day surgery services will be moving. The 24-hour Emergency Department will remain open at the main hospital at 32 Gisborne Street.

Patients should have it clearly marked on their appointment letter (unless they are coming to ED) which site to go to, but there may be some confusion for both patients and driver who are used to us only have one location.

All services will move back to the main site when the hospital redevelopment is completed in late 2018.
