On Sunday 7 January, a team of 13CABS Melbourne taxi drivers played against an All Star team in a T20 match for the 2016 13CABS Taxi Driver Memorial Cup brought to you by CrocMedia. Players on the All Star team included Essendon FC's Joe Daniher, former Australian cricketer Chris Rodgers and Australian Diamonds players Liz Watson and Jo Weston.

The charity event commemorated taxi drivers who have lost their lives on the job and raised much needed funds for the Monash Children's Hospital.

The game ended as a draw with both teams scoring 145 runs.

The grand total raised for Monash Children's Hospital was $22,210.

The event was a huge success for the second year running. This would not have been possible without the help of great sponsors (including the VTA, CrocMedia, Ashwood Sports Club, Herald Weekly Times, Melbourne’s Cheapest Cars, SAS Towing, Southern Cross Austereo, Systems Management and Collaborate Communications), hardworking volunteers and the spectators who came down to support the event.

“We are so grateful for everything that 13CABS do for our new Monash Children’s Hospital,” said Monash Health Foundation Director Debbie Shiell. “The effort that everybody has gone to today, the crowd that are here, the All Stars that are here – I can’t say thank you enough on behalf of the children.”

13CABS would like to thank everyone who got involved or came down to watch the game. It was a great day with a fantastic result for the Monash Children’s Hospital.
