Do you provide ride-sourcing (ride-sharing) services in addition to your normal licensed taxi services?
Do you know someone who is not a licensed taxi driver but provides ride-sourcing services?
Ride-sourcing is considered taxi travel under GST law so you need to charge GST on each ride-sourcing trip as you would for a licensed taxi trip. The ATO has given drivers who provide ride-sourcing services and are not already registered until 1 August 2015 to get an ABN and register for GST.
The ATO is running two free webinars on Wednesday 15 July about the tax implications for ride-sourcing drivers. The webinar presentation will cover:
- Income tax and GST requirements
- Common myths about ride-sourcing and the sharing economy
- What you need to do by 1 August 2015
- Questions and answers
Get your questions answered - there will be Q&A session so send us your questions when you register to attend or post your questions to the Let's Talk discussion board before the session starts.
When: Wednesday 15 July
Times:
11:00am-12pm AEDT
