Country WAT's Course
Country WAT's Course
To overcome the need for lengthy travel from country areas TITV
initiated a program for drivers in regional Victoria to gain their
WAT's accreditation.
On the job training is used to develop the driver's skills and
knowledge base.
The VTA's online training recourse is currently being updated and
as a result is temporarily unavailable. To complete the course the
prospective student should contact Debbie Howden at the VTA on 03
9676 2635 / 1800 649 893 and request a work book. The workbook will
enable the student to gain supplementary knowledge needed to
complete the course.
The combination of on the job training and knowledge gained by
completing the assessments contained within the workbook, will
enable the student to be prepared for assessment by an approved
assessor. These assessments have been developed by the VTA in
conjuction with the VTD.
Once you are competent to be assessed, by an approved assessor,
he/she will travel to the regional location where you are based to
conduct an assessment. It is advised that the Network Service
Provider (NSP), or student contact them at least 7 days prior.
To successfully complete the assessment the student will require
access to a licensed WAT vehicle for an unspecified time. Contact
details of country assessors are below.
