A taxi-cab depot is an entity authorised by the Victorian Taxi Directorate to hold itself open to the public to receive bookings for the hire of its affiliated taxi-cabs.

All taxi-cabs in Victoria must be affiliated with an approved taxi depot. This was introduced for both customer service and safety reasons.
