A Network Service Provider is an entity authorised by the
Department of Transport to hold itself open to the public to
receive bookings for the hire of its affiliated taxi-cabs.
Some Network Service Providers, in addition to providing taxi
booking facilities, bail taxi-cabs.
All taxi-cabs in Victoria must be affiliated with an approved
Network Service Provider. This was introduced for both customer
service and safety reasons.
A large proportion of the work of most taxi-cabs is gained
through Network Service Provider bookings.
