Changes to Driver Accreditation Conditions

The VTD has announced changes to driver accreditation conditions.

These include:

Operating* a wheelchair accessible taxi-cab, you must give priority to the carriage of wheelchair passengers at all times,

You must not operate* a commercial passenger vehicle classified as a taxi-cab unless you are logged on to the electronic transaction terminal at all times while the taxi-cab is being operated, except in the event of a failure or malfunction of the electronic transaction terminal system.

 
You must log-on only using the Victorian Taxi Directorate issued 'smartcard' that bears your name, driver licence number and the card number incorporating your driver accreditation number. This smartcard must not be used by any person other than you.


You must not drive a commercial passenger vehicle or a vehicle being used for the operation of a private bus service that seats more than 12 adults (including the driver) in an area that has been proclaimed hazardous unless VicRoads has issued you with a Hazardous Area Authority.
