Award Winning Taxis In Hamilton

  • Posted on 15 Dec 2009

Taxis of Hamilton, last month, took out the coveted 2009 Iluka Resources Southern Grampians Shire Inclusive Business Award for physical access at a gala function held at the Hamilton Golf Club on Tuesday 6 October 2009.

The annual Southern Grampians Business awards aim to recognize and acknowledge businesses that are setting a high standard in meeting community access needs and in providing an outstanding level of service for all of the community.

Taxis of Hamilton were nominated by Mulleraterong Centre, a community centre which provides services to fifty five intellectually disabled adults living in and around Hamilton. Many of the people who access services at the Centre require transport to and from the centre and, for as long as they can remember Taxis of Hamilton have provided this service in an outstanding manner.

Southern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Cr Marcus Rentsch congratulated Taxis of Hamilton on their success when presenting the award to owners Wayne and Jan Uebergang.

Jan however noted this award was less about the business and more about the committed and friendly service that her drivers are giving to the community.

"We simply could not have won this award without them," she said.

The VTA wholeheartedly congratulates Taxis of Hamilton on this great achievement!
