(a) Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP)

The Multi Purpose Taxi Program provides for a 50% subsidy on taxi-cab fares (up to a maximum subsidy of $30 per trip) for eligible people. Subsidy does not cover Melbourne airport taxi charges or CityLink tolls. The program aims to improve the accessibility of transport services for Victorians with a severe and permanent disability that significantly restricts their mobility and prevents them from accessing public transport. It is a State Government subsidy scheme administered by the Victorian Taxi Directorate.

(b) Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Services (WATS)

A fleet of more than 300 wheelchair accessible taxi-cabs operate across Victoria, including over 100 in outer suburban, Geelong and country areas.

In Melbourne, 13CABS and Silver Top Taxis co-ordinate and despatch wheelchair accessible taxi bookings.
