Community forum tonight
The meeting being hosted tonight in Oakleigh by several local MPs is intended as an opportunity for the Taxi Services Commission to brief local constituents on the implementation of taxi industry reforms and provide information in response to queries and representations being fielded by local members from taxi industry participants who are their constituents.
Together, let's make a better
industry for customers and drivers
What makes a taxi a taxi?
CEO David Samuel
The Victorian taxi industry is not rallying against competition, but rather the illegal and ethical behaviour of particular competitors. If new competitors entered the market and played by the rules this debate would not be occurring. If the community are of the view that the current safety regulations should be changed then we should hear from them, and if need be, the laws and regulations should be changed. Until then, the law should be enforced not be changed at the behest of one commercial entity. Why does regulation matter?
